Thomas Noe, whose failed
rare-coin deal with the State of Ohio has triggered multiple
investigations and rocked Ohio’s Republican leadership,
was charged with illegally funneling $45,400 to
President Bush’s re-election campaign.
On February 13, 2006, the Lucas
County District Court of Ohio indicted Mr. Noe in a
separate matter on 53 courts including corruption,
theft, money laundering, tampering with records, and
forgery.

TOLEDO,
OHIO Tom Noe received and accepted a 27-months'
Federal prison sentence for illegally funneling
$45,400 to the RNC Bush/Cheney 2004 ReElection
Campaign, which President Bush has now said will
be returned.
Mr. Noe pled
innocent on October 31, 2005 in Federal Court in
Toledo to these indictment charges of
conspiracy, conduit contribution violation, and
false statements. On May 31, 2006, Mr. Noe
changed his plea from "not guilty" and plead
"guilty".

Tom Noe
was
found guilty of money laundering, forgery,
theft, corruption and sentenced to 18 years in
prison in a separate trial involving the State
of Ohio's Bureau of Worker's Compensation
rare-coin investing.

On
November 20, 2006,
Tom Noe was sentenced to
an 18-year prison term, to be served after the
27-month Federal sentence imposed in September,
fined $213,000, "ordered to pay the cost of the
prosecution, estimated at nearly $3 million, and
ordered to pay restitution to the Ohio Bureau of
Workers' Compensation for the money missing from
the rare-coin fund, estimated at $13.7 million."
